Olivia Day in the City

Hello!

I'm Olivia, and you're here because I invited you to my 23rd birthday party. Maybe you are my friend, or an acquaintance, or a family member. Or maybe you don't know me, but I know you.

I am an autistic trans woman. Being autistic means a lot of different things, including that I really like parties, and my birthday party especially. It also means that I can get very enthusiastic about sending out invitations to my birthday, and I apologize if I am too enthusiastic.

Why Birthday Parties are Important to Me

I like celebrating life events – a lot. So my birthday party is an important part of my life: I see it as an opportunity to look at the year that's past, to see where I've been and to think about where I'm going.

Some things that happened the last year, or that are coming up, things I see worthy of marking:

  • The PEI Provincial Election in April of this year (2023).
  • The Religious Exploration in April of this year (2023).
  • Moving to a New Apartment Building from a 2 story home in February at the same time as the Canadian Winter Games on PEI!
  • Marking 10 years of that Summer in June 2014 in June 2024 (but i am marking it this year (October 2023) because it's the 10 years of turning 13 years old in October of 2013!
  • 2024 marks 10 years of getting a service dog named Ethan during March Break, MSTM (Make Stuff That Matters) Unconference, My Trip to Maine and My Mother's Breast Cancer Diagnosis.

Birthday Party Details

My birthday is Sunday, October 1, 2023. It's the same day as Farm Day in the City, so I'm calling it Olivia Day in the City.

I will be hosting a birthday drop-in from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Charlottetown Library and Learning Centre in the Community Kitchen. You are welcome to drop by any time. (Zoom from 2:15 PM Atlantic time to 3:00 PM Atlantic time) -
